The AIGA NY Mentoring Program

Students in the AIGA NY's Mentoring Program learn about the creative fields of graphic design, fashion, architecture, photography and illustration. The program is organized and run by dedicated volunteers with the common goal of making a difference in the lives of New York's young artists.

Mentors and students are paired based on their shared interests. Mentors introduce their students to the world of work and help them participate in the many cultural events that the city has to offer. Pairs are required to meet for one hour per week or two hours every other week for a total of four hours a month.

  • Complete paperwork from the New York City Department of Education
  • Attend a three-hour orientation meeting where you will be finger-printed
  • Attend the Mentoring Program kick-off party where you meet your student for the first time

Orientation is scheduled for early October and the kick-off party happens in late October or early November.

If you are interested in finding out more, follow the link below, submit your name and you will receive an email message with the forms and information needed to participate in the program.
