Darwin had the
right idea, and nowhere is this more true than in todays dramatic,
dizzying, and dynamic world of business. What does it take to survive,
to adapt, change and grow? Or to simply maintain a firms status
quo?
Spend four evenings with us and discuss topics relevant to survival
in any economic climate, but specifically tailored to the present
one. From the daunting task of marketing and the drudgery of law
and tax issues to the delight of reinvention, each subject will
be addressed in a lively, informative format and moderated by Scott
Stowell. Plus, the food will be better, we promise.
Speakers Leslie Sherr and John Barker shared these Ten
Commandments regarding marketing your skills in this crazy economy.

Tonight they will present their different but equally fascinating
stories of reinvention and the forces, both internal and external,
that precipitated this change. Learn how they sought out and embraced
new challenges, new projects and new opportunities and came away
smiling.
STEVE MIGNOGNA & BRETT GERSTENBLATT (SEQUEL )
& GREG VAN ALSTYNE (BRUCE MAU DESIGN )
STEVE MIGNOGNA and BRETT GERSTENBLATT founded Sequel Studio in 2001.
Their working relationship began in 1995 at Belk Mignogna Associates.
After a succession of mergers, resulting in the re-branding of BMA
as Red Sky Interactive, the firm's focus shifted entirely to the
interactive space.
As a co-founder of BMA, Steve directed top level corporate assignments
specializing in branding and communications. Steve and Brett were
part of the early group that helped transform BMA into a firm that
included more than 60 talented professionals.
Sequel Studio was created out of the sum of everything they have
learned. The two will speak about the risks they have taken, the
mistakes they have made and their most important lessons.
GREG VAN ALSTYNE is Director of the Institute without Boundaries
in Toronto, a new post-graduate multidisciplinary program launched
by Bruce Mau Design and George Brown College. Greg's long and varied
collaborative relationship with Bruce Mau Design began in 1987,
and over the next 8 years he witnessed the studio's growth from
two to fifteen people.
In 1995 Greg relocated to New York where he became founding head
of the New Media Department at the MoMA. In 1999 he joined Icon
Nicholson as Creative Director.
As a long-time observer both inside and outside the studio, Greg
will speak about the growth and evolution of Bruce Mau Design, now
close to 50 in size, as it has gained international recognition
for its cross-disciplinary work.
You've heard from our expert panelists, now its your chance
to speak. This final, informal evening is an opportunity to ask
in-depth questions of the series speakers, share insights of you
own or just chit chat with your colleagues about the last episode
of The Sopranos. In any case, it will be a great way to wrap
up this years Business Series.
Please note that attendance to roundtable & wrap-up is limited
to those people who register for the entire series.
