Hot off the presses and in a rare, small and informal
setting, Steven Heller tells us what’s new in the forefront of
design history with his latest, “Merz to Emigré and Beyond:
Avant Garde Magazine Design of The Twentieth Century,” a
historical survey of the periodicals that changed graphic design.
Plus: “Counter Culture: The Allure of Mini-Mannequins,” a rare
and ridiculous collection of point of purchase sculptures
of commerce, and other things weird or wonderful.
