On the occasion of the publication of their book designing:, as well as an exhibition at The Cooper Union, the work of Chermayeff & Geismar seems more relevant than ever. For over 40 years this firm has maintained a personal, design-driven approach to all client work, whether for a big corporation or a small non-profit.
After an introductory film timeline of design from 1957 to 2003, Michael Bierut
of Pentagram will moderate a discussion focusing on 20 projects that feature
all aspects of the Chermayeff & Geismar office: graphic design, interactive
design, environmental design, corporate identity and that famous red nine.
